Hello...

 

... I'm Phil Bartlett; welcome to my portfolio on the world wide web. It' a delight to be able to have an opportunity to exhibit and share my photos with people, and hopefully to sell some online as well.

 

I started photography as a qualification at school nearly twenty years ago and it's been my main interest ever since. Like many photographers during the time I've been taking photos I have graduated from film to digital imaging using a wide variety of camera equipment across the years. My current camera is the Nikon D300 Digital SLR with an assortment of lenses. I believe that, whilst equipment is undoubtedly important in creating pictures but for me the greatest tool in taking a good picture is imagination.

 

The focus and passion of my work lies in travel photography. Capturing the atmosphere and beauty of places is always inspiring and I also like to try to take a fresh approach when shooting well known places. I have been fortunate enough to travel a great deal and my online portfolio includes shots from both the West and East coasts of America, a variety of places around Europe including Zante and Barcelona and also some pictures of Egypt. I have tried to put as many photos as possible on the website but please contact me if you are looking for anything specific that you can't see.

 

I've lived in Bath all my life and as a result many of the images from the UK are of events local to Bath and Bristol including the Bristol Balloon Fiesta and Bristol Harbour Festival.

 

In addition to the photographs of places around the globe I enjoy close up still life photography as it unlocks a different perspective with a camera. A few of my still life shots can be found on this website.

 

In 2009 I hope to be touring parts of Italy including Tuscany and the Neapolitan Rivera. Closer to home I am visiting the Lake District which I hope will provide an exciting assignment.
